FOXFIRE has 19 base weapons and 19 evolutions. All weapons aim and fire automatically; the player flies. A fully levelled base weapon paired with the right passive evolves into a new weapon with changed behaviour. 11 of the 19 base weapons are revealed and listed below.

## Evolution mechanics

- Each base weapon has exactly one evolution and one paired passive.
- Trigger: fully level the base weapon while holding its paired passive; the next upgrade offers the evolved form.
- Evolutions change behaviour, not just numbers (e.g. the Ballistic Gun's measured cadence becomes the Gatling Gun's sustained stream).
- Several weapons interact with the thrust-physics movement system: the Anchor converts the ship's velocity into damage; the Afterburner damages along the engine wake.
